About
Hi, I'm Reo. I'm Japanese and I live in Osaka. This site is where I write calm, practical guides for people planning a trip to Japan.
Who I am
- I live in Osaka, so the trains, shops, and neighborhoods I write about are close to home.
- For work, I run a small marketing service for local businesses in Japan. The work covers social media management, landing pages, and Google review management.
- I'm also a web developer. I built a Google review management tool (a small SaaS product) on my own, from zero.
Why this site exists
Planning a first trip to Japan can feel like a lot: trains, phone data, where to stay, and what needs booking ahead. I want to make those decisions simpler, with answers from someone who lives here.
What you can expect
- Step-by-step guides for practical decisions: getting around, staying connected, where to stay, and what to book ahead.
- Photos I took myself, unless a caption says otherwise.
- A clear "(paid link)" label next to every affiliate link.
- Plain English, with no hype.
How I make these articles
English is my second language. I use AI (Claude) to help me draft and polish my articles so they read clearly. Then, for every article:
- I check prices, rules, and opening details against official sources.
- I add what I've seen or done myself. I never write that I've been somewhere I haven't.
- When I mention a booking service or an eSIM, I say whether I have used it myself.
Prices, schedules, and booking rules change often, sometimes right after I publish. Always check the official site before you book or buy. If you spot something out of date, please let me know and I'll fix it.
How this site makes money
Some links on this site are affiliate links, which I label as "paid links." If you book or buy something through one of them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's how I pay for the site and the time it takes to research and test. You can read exactly how this works on my disclosure page.
